Our Journey
Founded in 1990 as Specialized Counselling Services, we began by offering bilingual counseling to children, youth, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds. As the need for mental health support grew and the demand for more comprehensive, wraparound services became clear, the practice evolved. In 2021, we rebranded to Sheila Tallon & Associates to better reflect our expanded vision and commitment to holistic care. Our goal is to provide a collaborative, innovative, and supportive environment where clients can thrive—discovering effective solutions for their mental health challenges and achieving lasting well-being.

Counselling Internship Program
This program provides master’s-level graduate students from accredited programs with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the mental health field, while offering you access to high-quality, affordable counselling services. Under the direct supervision of experienced social workers and psychotherapists, our interns are well-equipped to provide effective support as they develop and refine their skills.
Giving Back
This year, we were honoured to support several incredible organizations, including the Children’s Treatment Centre, Agape, CHEO, Hospice, Glengarry Mental Health Initiatives, Centre 105, and Sisters for Life. These partnerships have enabled us to make a meaningful impact on those in need, and we remain committed to continuing this important work in the years ahead.
Testimonials
"Alex was incredibly understanding and compassionate toward our daughter as she navigated questions about her gender identity. She offered a safe, non-judgmental space where our daughter felt truly seen and supported.
With Alex’s guidance, our daughter was able to explore her feelings with confidence and begin to understand herself more fully. We’re deeply grateful for the care and respect Alex showed every step of the way."
“Just wanted to say thank you. Having Mitch support my 16-year-old son this past year was truly fantastic. He gained so much from his sessions, and now that he’s home for the summer from studying overseas, I can see such a positive change—he’s noticeably calmer and actively looks for new ways to resolve conflict.”
"Pauline has been an incredible support to our family as we navigated the heartbreaking loss of a loved one. Her compassion, understanding, and steady presence brought comfort during one of the most difficult times in our lives.
She didn’t just listen—she truly saw us, offering guidance and care that helped us begin to heal. We’re so grateful for her kindness and the space she created for us to grieve and grow."

"Sheila has played such a meaningful role in my life over the years. I first started seeing her in high school, and now, heading into my fourth year of university, I still reach out to her for support when I need it.
She hasn’t just listened—she’s guided me, challenged me, and helped me grow into the woman I am today. Sheila is truly incredible, and I wholeheartedly recommend her counselling services to anyone looking for genuine, compassionate support."
