François de Courval

François de Courval holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in epidemiology. He has been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner – Primary Health Care for the past 11 years.

François began his career in a Family Health Team, working within the chronic disease management program. Today, he continues to work in a walk-in clinic. He also contributed to the development and launch of the Health Link program (now called Regional Integrated Care) in Prescott-Russell. This initiative served vulnerable populations without access to a primary care provider through home visits, assessments, and the creation of community partnerships aimed at addressing gaps in the health care system.

Currently, François works with Ontario Health at Home, providing care for orphaned and homebound patients. His role includes responding to acute health episodes and needs, helping patients avoid unnecessary emergency room visits.

Throughout his nursing career, François has worked in a variety of settings, including the intensive care unit in Montreal and in First Nations communities in Northern Québec.
